Paris was awesome! It's such a beautiful city and my room was right next to the eiffel tower so every night it lit up we could see it, and then when it sparkled every hour. Magnifique! Everyone was soo nice as well. It was very exciting, my mom had reserved dinner in the eiffel tower at restaurant Altitude 95 for our birthday which was wonderful, the view was outstanding! the food not so good but it was fun because Emily and I got to dress up.
So I have tons of dumb little souvenirs and over three hundred pictures. Paris was wonderful.
Snow Patrol were beyond brilliant. They put on one the best shows I've seen, and their beautiful Irish brogues I almost died with euphoria. Haha. Plus he totally looked at Emily and I about a hundred times. What an awesome concert though, right up there with the likes of Coldplay and Dave Matthews. Fantastic. Every song was brilliant, and every single one was my favorite. OK Go were good too, very amusing. I'd never been to Madison Square Garden Theater but it was very lovely.
And I won my Dispatch tickets for July 14th! Yay! I love Dispatch. It turns out that I surprisingly won my bid by a lot..but 100% of the proceeds go to Zimbabwe which is thus totally worth it.
I arrived back yesterday morning and have successfully adjusted to the six hour time difference by forcing myself to stay awake until 9 pm Eastern time, haha. It was a mighty struggle though I believe I conquered all. Now I have over 30 e-mails of fantastic story updates that I'm just dying to catch up on...when I wonder.

I'm so excited! Paris on the 28th! Snow Patrol on the 27th! St. Patrick's Day today! My 18th Birthday on April 3rd!
Yesterday we celebrated St. Patrick's Day because my sister and I have to work tonight...I hope it's really slow and we get sent home early. But dinner was fantastic, delicious corned beef and boiled potatoes and many many slices of the wonderful Irish Soda Bread. YUM.
I'm also currently bidding for wonderful concert tickets, I want to go to England during the week of July 15-23 (for obvious reasons) and I'm graduating high school this June.
Crazy.
Time is flying, soaring as a matter of fact. I will have problems with funding though if I want everything to happen...must sign up for more shifts I think.. and hope for loads of birthday money, haha.
I have lots of work to do this weekend though. Sigh.
1. AP French Literature- Essay on La Guerre de Troie N'aurai Pas lieu
2. AP Literature- Essay on Hamlet (second one?!)
3. Math- Test on Monday
4. AP Psych- Presentation due Wed.
And I have to go shopping for Paris and manage not to spend any money...

Don't you hate the realization that you've just spent at least three or four hours reading the most awful and ridiculous story possible, yet still continue to read it...
I was on siye deperately looking for a story, but I find that I generally don't like that site, I mean initially I was in on the hp boards way back when fanfiction for hp started- then the boards started going bad so I moved on to siye which the same thing began to happen so I left it and I haven't been on in ages. Out of curiousity today I decided to head over there and check out a couple of stories since I know the main characters will be the two I love...bad idea.
I checked out the best overall story, 82 long chapters, it had something like 2099 reviews- I mean I figured it must be good. So I set off to read it. It was horrible from the offset- I mean the characterization was completely off, the story completely bogus- everything about it was horrific- but I said to myself, Gillian, with that many reviews you must be missing something. So I figured the author must eventually improve her writing style...five chapters in and about a gazillion hours later I stopped myself and journeyed on to the most recent chapter- and its still the same quaility as the beginning chapters. I don't understand how it can have won and have so many reviews when it is clearly- I don't mean to be harsh- unworthy.
On other news I got a haircut today and decided to be loose with it and not get all uptight about it like I usually do. I told the lady to cut it much to short- shoulder length- but then my curls make it even shorter and it makes me look young. As a 17 year old who everyone thinks is 15 as it is- this is not a good thing. I will never wear it down again. But I also got a really nice retro hairband for when I do put it up- my sole consolation.

See The World
Day to day
Where do you want to be?
'Cos now you're trying to pick a fight
With everyone you need
You seem like a soldier
Who's lost his composure
You're wounded and playing a waiting game
In no-man's land no-one's to blame
See the world
Find an old fashioned girl
And when all's been said and done
It's the things that are given, not won
Are the things that you earned
Empty handed, surrounded by a senseless scene
With nothing of significance
Besides a shadow of a dream
You sound like an old joke
You want out, a bit broke
An' askin me time and time again
And the answer's still the same
See the world
Find an old fashioned girl
And when all's been said and done
It's the things that are given, not won
Are the things that you earned
You've got a chance to put things right
So how's it going to be?
Lay down your arms now
And put us beyond doubt
So reach out it's not too far away
Don't mess around now, don't delay
See the world...
